My friend wants to help plan/buy decor for a bachelorette/couple party type event. I’ve decided I like the idea of a 60’s/Hippy type theme for the party, something like “Dazed and Engaged” or “Wedstock”. I’ve found a lot of inspiration for decor, a couple accessories and favors, and photo booth props as options.
I’m stumped as to what kind of actual activities and/or entertainment to base the event around that are friendly for all ages (aka no male strippers etc.) so that I can invite a few of the younger ladies in the family. I’m also having a bridal shower so I don’t know what things that overlap between the two without being boring (couple games, etc.).

Here are some fun 60s/hippie themed activities you could do at the bachelorette party that would be inclusive for all ages:
- Groovy photo booth: Set up a photo station with props like peace sign frames, flower crowns, hippy shades, boas etc. Have the girls get wild with the pics!
- Flower child matching game: Cut out paper or fabric flowers and have the guests match them to descriptions of bride/grooms' friends & family.
- Peace, love & memory game: Make cards with 60s quotes, slang words, album covers etc. Take turns reading them aloud and seeing who remembers the most.
- Flower power manicures: Do nail art station with peace signs, flowers or other groovy designs to paint on each other's nails.
- Get down & boogie dance party: Play classic 60s tunes and teach the moves like the mashed potato, twist etc. Have a contest for best danced routine.
- Tarot card readings: Hire a reader to do quick fun tarot pulls for each guest. Could do romance or wedding predictions related.
Hope some of these give you an idea of what might work! Let me know if you need help setting any of it up. Far out ideas for a swingin' celebration!
I would say that you can have a game using playing cards where depending on which card you pull off the top you are assigned a corresponding question, if you get it right you are safe, if you get it wrong you have to perform a silly task related to a relationship (ex. cleaning dishes, sewing and hemming clothes, cooking, vacuuming, paying bills, etc).
You could also turn the have I ever game into, the would you ever game. Then you could also have a wedding rush relay where you have to put on a dress (over the clothes you are wearing), run to different stations to perform a task, then run back to tag the next person in line to put on the dress that you just removed.
When the kids are not going to be there for the other party, you can bring in more adult themed games. Keep it at least PG for this event.
Have fun and be creative with bowls, balloons, and paper. You can create so many games. You can put a piece of paper on everyone's back when they first come in, and on that paper is something related to marriage. Others will describe it; it comes off of their back only when they correctly guess what it is.
With the Balloons, you can do a type of Russian roulette with balloons; they all have a piece of paper in them, it can be a question or a task. If you get the question right, the turn goes to the next person in line; if you get it wrong; you receive a penalty quest to find a common item. What item you have to find is decided by what paper you pull out of the penalty bowl. If you get a task, you either perform it or take the penalty.
Have fun!!!
