I saw one episode about 30 years ago (the girl was playing saxophone) and almost laughed at one joke. I was pretty much forced into watching it. I was at the house of one of my roadies with the rest of my band and we'd either just finished playing an afternoon gig or were about to go play one that night and everybody else wanted to sit around and watch The Simpletons.
Back in the `80's, I used to try to read Matt's comic strips in the local entertainment paper and none of them were ever funny. So, when he got his first t. v. show, I made it a point never to watch it. It's so stupid, I can't see why everyone loves it so much.

  I just started watching them on disney+ The sad thing is, they ain't predicted things. They made jokes about things they thought were so ridiculous, that pretending they happened would make people laugh.

I used to watch it back in the late 90s, think I started around 97 before it stopped being funny. I think I've seen every show up until Season 13.
