Would an Earth-bender or Water-bender win a duel in a mud-pit?

I think earth. I feel like mud would be primarily earth, rather than primarily water, so an earth-bender would have more power.

A water bender would be able to pull out the water from the mud right? I bet it’d have infections, just shove it up the earth bender’s nose and wait until they get a disease

@ComteDeSaintGermain If I recall that was like a super master level of water bending, basically Avatar’s equivalent of SSJG or something. If we’re talking about two who are as strong as they can possibly be then yeah but I thought you meant just like, average benders.

I mean, it depends. Only royalty could use lighting bending in the original avatar. But later in avatar there common people using lighting bending casually at their jobs in a factory. The same goes for metal bending. And that is another thing too the earth bender might be able to metal bend metal in the blood. I remember an earth bender putting some liquid in Korra's body to kill her.

I really do not know. I did go on a few benders before but never ended up in a mud pit, that I can remember.

mud does present properties that more keen to the liquid state rather than a solid...

so the water bender would have more of an edge

I think Water Bender, too. The blood-bending is too strong and can easily win the fight. Even an experienced adult Avatar Aang needed to turn into an Avatar state to break out of the blood-bending in the legend of Kora series. Unless the rules are, they can only use mud.
