If you had the power to instantly master any ONE musical instrument, which one would you choose and why?

I think I’d pick guitar. I bought one already and I’m kind of learning…. but the whole point of it is to learn to play as a prank on my girlfriend, who HATES “acoustic guitar guy at the party.” We saw the Barbie movie and she thought the “Let me sing at you” scene where all the Kens play guitar and sing Matchbox 20 to all the Barbies at the beach bonfire, and she was just like “that is my ultimate “ick” for a guy, SO cringey.”

So I promptly purchased an acoustic guitar and have been teaching myself to play a little, since we don’t live together right now, and I can learn totally in secret and hopefully surprise her and whip a guitar out of nowhere and sing a corny love song for my greatest prank of all time😂😂😂

So I guess I’d just skip the effort and know how to do that.

Probably piano/keyboard. I like to make little tunes on my MIDI keyboard although I'm a horrible pianist and have to quantize my bad timing and correct a lot of things digitally in a piano roll. I could streamline away the process so much if I had better piano skills.

Guitar ♥️. I'd love to master the guitar. To me guitar is everything. The strings vibration, the earthy and the natural woody sound. The melody. Especially on a beach at night, by the fire. I think that's something to hold onto.

Probably piano. Or maybe violin. The thing is that pianos are expensive and take up a lot of room. OK, maybe not too expensive since a lot of people give them away - but you have to find that person or group who wants to get rid of one. I knew a guy who got a full grand piano for free. It took up his entire living room though.

I was lucky enough to have my aunt and uncle gift my family a grand piano they wanted to get rid of when I was a kid. Have had it ever since and play some tunes on it occasionally. I only play by ear though and although people said I'm really talented for being able to pickup songs by ear and play it, I definitely am no pianist.

And yes... they do take up a lot of space. To this day, I have no clue how they got the piano in the house 😂

Ukeleles seem to be really taking off here for some reason. There's loads of clubs and ukulele festivals around the country. You can even borrow them from some libraries.

Apparently their popularity is down to them being cheap and quick and easy to master, so why don't you just get one and learn? It only takes a few days practice.
