PASS! I come from the country least interested in rap.
No particular order itās Jay Z, Tupac, Nas & The Notorious B. I. G perhaps. In terms of impact. Eminem used to be good, now heās just a cornball.

WHO CARES? Ninety-five percent of rap BLOWS !!!
I like Biggie, Snoop Dog, and some of the Wutang Clan guys like GZA and Old Dirty Bastard. I always go back to this album though
I can 'talk' all night... is that what you mean?
Any that are dead so we don't have to listen to them anymore.
Keeps them from making more of that garbage! That's less there is TO listen to.
I already did! Where's yours?
Still haven't heard anything intelligent from you.
Your initial question IS asking opinions! 5 of us GAVE you opinions and you didn't like any of them!
Here's a rap record from 1966!
www.youtube.com/watch
And his biggest rap hit is STILL VERY well known, today!
Other than, "Fight For Your Right To Baptize" by The Priesty Boys, how many of yours are popular and VERY well known 2 years after they came out?
I can only respond to a constructed argument if the commenter presents one.
And I didn't ask for an opinion on what people think of rap, but on who the greatest rappers in history are, so people who reply that they don't like rap (which is their right) have nothing to do with my question.
And there are only two comments I disagree with.
Who the greatest are IS asking for an opinion! That's why I stopped watching any of those awards shows back in the `70's. It's ALWAYS somebody else's opinions! People that SHOULD get recognized, aren't and those that don't deserve it, get the awards!
All the comments I've seen are negative! so, you agree with all of them?
No, not all comments are negative. In addition, we have the right to have a negative opinion, but it must remain respectful.
And I ask for an opinion on a particular question. You have the right not to like rap, but I don't understand the meaning of going to give his opinion on a question that asks who are the greatest rappers in history.
It's as if you ally in a restaurant deliberately eating a dish that you don't like, to have the pleasure then to say "I don't like this dish" ...
@FunkyMonkee Whoās responsible for making the poison reach the masses though
I looked at them and they were all negative at that point.
The question IS asking opinions! The fact that you reduced it to just 4 and left it to others to choose from those 4 means that you're looking for their OPINIONS. Those 4 are YOUR opinion of the best, otherwise, you would've left the field wide open and I would've STILL picked Jerry Samuals! Or Mr. John Dowie, or Carson Robinson. Maybe even Gilbert & Sullivan!
I don't eat at restaurants where I don't like the food just as I don't listen to recordings of shit that I don't like.
@getwiththepg Radio, record companies, record stores.
@FunkyMonkee You missed. It has to be approved by someone before getting sent to stations & stores. Those are the execs who areā¦ā¦old white males pumping black poison.
@getwiththepg As Frank Zappa said, most of those guys don't know what will sell. They just toss it out and see what happens. If it sells, it sells and they make more of it! If t doesn't sell, they try something else.
Sure does! The best rapper is a dead one.
@FunkyMonkee Your answer makes no sense. The white execs push rap even though itās negative & horrible for two reasons:
1. Itās the most popular genre & generates money like no other
2. To damage black youth & further reinforce negative stereotypes.
Why hasnāt rap & other controversial artists like Marilyn Manson been totally outlawed yet? Cause negativity sells.
@getwiththepg If it makes no sense, it's because you have no sense.
The people will mostly only buy what is being readily offered to them! If you took away all the rap and pop princess garbage that's being pushed, today and ONLY gave them rock, THAT''S what they'd buy, love and gravitate to!
I've been watching a good many of those reaction videos of people that are teens and young adults today listening to OUR music (what I grew up with in the `60's and `70's) for the very first time and, even though their videos use rap as their opening and closing theme to their videos, they all go NUTS over OUR music and wish they would've grown up when we did and had loads more of this kind of music!

@FunkyMonkee I like how you skipped over everything else that I spoke about. OBVIOUSLY if one genre of music was pushed everyone would listen to it, but that would make it a dictatorship/authoritarian government & everyone would lose their minds. And no not everyone would love rock. Iām pretty sure conservative Christians are very opposed to rock & roll & all of its sub-genres. Rap is so popular that people start off as rappers & then transition into different genres i. e Post Malone. But negating my previous reasons why rap is so popular what could the other reasons be? Is it that black people make everything in the world thatās deemed āhipā? They did invent the aforementioned rock & roll at the end of the day. What makes suburban white boy Billy want to be what he sees on the TV? And I keep reiterating on whoās pushing this music. Itās rich white men. 2Pacalypse Now which was called a cop killer album, hell Ice-T literally has a song called Cop Killer. Who is allowing these albums/songs to be released? Itās not black A&Rās and execs at these huge music groups. Weasel.
@getwiththepg Well, how many HAVE lost their minds?
OF COURSE not EVERYONE would love rock!
The only reason rap is so popular is because ANYBODY can do it!! It takes NO talent AT ALL! You learn to push a few buttons on a Casiotone, you write some incredibly stupid rhymes with LOTS of swearing and get someone that can play an electric typewriter and you've got a rap record!!
I said that decades ago! 100-some years ago, blacks started folk music and everyone else joined in, blacks started the blues and everyone else fell in. Blacks started jazz and everyone else followed along. Blacks started R&B and everyone else followed BUT, a LOT of those followers took what they heard and liked and did other things with it! That's why we got Big Band, Texas swing, The British Invasion, Surf, pop, garage, psych, heavy metal, prog, glam, punk, new wave, electronic, hair metal, grunge, power pop, acid rock, space rock, ambient, shoe gazer, head banger, math rock, etc.. Ain't no blacks came up with any of that!
Well, how many black execs and A&R people are there? If it wasn't FOR those white cigar chomping execs and A&R guys, blackie's music wouldn't BE as popular as it became.
@FunkyMonkee You just contradicted yourself. You originally said if rock was the only music pushed then everyone would love it. And you said music from the 60ās & 70ās. Half of those offshoot genres came out in the 80ās & 90ās. Regardless that still makes them the progenitor of it all. And youāre only nitpicking several people. Rakim whoās regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time doesnāt curse in his music at all. Iām pretty sure Motley Crüe & plenty other heavy metal/death metal songs talk about sex, drugs & violence. You donāt know anything.
