The vast majority of educated people will obviously chose William Shakespeare because he has (or should have) left an impression due to his achievements. Contrary to Lady Godiva, he did achieve something whereas, Lady Godiva may be known to those few that are into nudes.
I don't think that a great number of people would actually know this Lady Godiva if they would be honest enough and not check her up on the internet.
William Shakespeare has marked a large number of scholars throughout the English speaking countries but mostly in the UK, Ireland and number of Commonwealth countries. Lady Godiva on the other hand is mostly unknown except for those that like Belgian chocolates.
William Shakespeare because God destroyed a whole city for being very sinful and lust was one of the main sins in that city so I believe the naked lady on a horse was from older times cause people were more animalistic back then, dude with a old suit is just a dude with a suit lol
