Today I read about a graphic artist whose primary skill is in bringing old photos to life. Part of her work includes giving historical figures a modern makeover.
This inspired my question. If you were to put a historical figure in a modern setting, how would they look? Who would the become in today's world?
Let's start with Elizabeth I. I can just picture her asking to speak to the manager, and a teenager at Starbucks saying 'Yeah, ok Karen.'Katherine Howard, the 5th wife of Henry VIII, age 17. Her life probably wouldn't be much different now. She would still get hit on by older guys, but maybe not beheaded. Her inbox would have more dick pics than there are stars out at night.Henry VIII, scary thought: he could just put on a tux and blend right in. Perhaps there is a Henry VIII amongst us.George Washington: he would be perceived as an American schmuck who loves his booze and women. Probably would be accused of sex crimes and stupidity and banned from social media.Louis XIV. Kind of a lady killer without that horrible perm. I'm guessing he would go into the entertainment business.Marcus Aurelius, the philosopher emperor of Rome, who wrote the book "Meditations." Something tells me we wouldn't even let this guy on a commercial air flight.Vlad the Impaler. Looks like he would become the next "Tinder Swindler."
