I have never been to one and might get bullied for not participating in the action if I did go. Like I had people give me dirty looks at work cause I was too busy doing my job to socialize and they thought I was disrespecting them by not engaging in conversation the way everyone else did. I also had a friend of a friend complain I was not drinking alcohol when we met at a bar together for a social event. I thought beer was a waste of money cause I don't enjoy the taste that much. I enjoy the taste of food so I prefer to spend my money on food and not beer.

I automatically associate "raves" with drugs, alcohol and occasionally pornography.

Thus, actually I do pity those people that must attend those raves because I am not at all the type of person that would ever attend that kind of event. I find them degenerate from what I have heard from people that did attend some of them.

No, I am certainly not jealous of those people, far from it. I hate loud noise and I believe that those parties are extremely loud and busy. They are not for me and I will gladly leave my space to those that like noise.

A friend of mine use to host the very first raves here in the UK. I did a bit of DJing there too.

Am I jealous of people who go there now? Nah.. I helped one of the originators of it when acceeeeed was a thing!

I harbor the same feelings towards raves that I do clubs and that is no thanks it's just loud horrible music, way to many people/crowded and drugs and alcohol.  Just sounds like a horrible time to me.
