Do you miss going to the movies? What would make you go more?

For me, there's nothing good out. It's always horror movies and action movies that just seem not so exciting.

And then everything is overpriced. It's one thing to be expensive but don't charge $20 for something and then use the cheapest ingredients to make the food.

I just went a week ago yesterday to catch the new Ghostbusters flick; it was the first time I had gone in quite a few years. I had a burger shortly before the film and all I got at the concession stand was a large Coke. That and Tuesday being the cheapest day to go kept the cost to a minimum.

When I used to go regularly, getting a seat was a free-for-all and I would routinely get in slightly early and sit near the back for the best view. That was a bad choice though as those who came in with popcorn would pile into the rows ahead of me, and the “butter” on that popcorn smelled like pee, I kid you not. Now the available seats can be selected at the ticket kiosk, and I chose one in the back row of a smaller section of seats up front, just far enough from the screen for a comfortable view. And, since the movie had been out for about three weeks already, that showing was very sparsely attended; I even had that entire section to myself, and there was no pee smell. Once I finished my Coke I started fidgeting with the cup; by the time the film was over the lowest couple of inches were almost completely severed.

Yeah, a little bit. I've gone to maybe three in the last year. I love movies, but for the past year or so, I can't handle the strobe effects or 1 second (or less) quick shots; I'll go out to a nearby sports bar with my brother. Even that's a problem because there's a lot of movement on ten large screens; and I'll get sick, so I have to block them with my hand, or shut my eyes.

I like science fiction, horror, comedy, and action... I mostly stream stuff. Even that can be a lot, though. The benefit with streaming is that I can hit pause and skip, or close my eyes... (sometimes I know what's coming (Like the Disney + intro to the Star Wars stuff)).

There are a few dramas that I would like to see; normally it's not my thing, but there are some "based on a true story" movies... I haven't really had the chance.

I am lucky to see one good movie a year in the mainstream but dig deeper and go independent , and you will find some good stuff.  The music industry is just the same, there is literally NOTHING in the top100 of any quality but good music still exists, you just have to search for it.

I avoid places that are crowded and with the recent attacks in the general public, it puts me even more so on edge. I know it’s next to impossible to predict but if I can already pull myself from the equation, it’s something.

I don’t miss going to movies because i never stopped. There were a few theaters that stayed open during the shutdown, and drive-ins were killing it!
I go to movies fairly often. I’ll probably see two or three this weekend because the summer blockbusters are rolling out and i have gotten behind.
“Expensive” is relative. I luv movies and i rarely feel like i didn’t get my money’s worth. Of course someone who earns less and/or doesn’t luv movies as much will have a different experience. I don’t understand why people spend $400 on a single pair of shoes that cost $6 to manufacture by slave labor or next to it in some third-world country. I don’t understand why anyone would spend three quarters of a million dollars on a car that can’t even go off road. I really don’t understand why people spend $150 on concert tickets to listen mostly to the crowd and/or hear “artists” f*ck up their own music for a “live performance”.

I've been going frequently since 2022. It was after Covid and because I felt like I'd missed out on so many when I had to work or had to be locked down, not just for Covid, but when I worked shift work for so many years and so many holidays, I for one never got much time for my own enjoyments to cinemas or to movies or to theme parks. I had to work 😄😋😄🎊 ego my own horn ego toot honk honk 🔊

I have not been to the movies since before covid. There is a new theater in my town thet opened over a year ago. I wanted to go last weekend to see Civil War but I got too busy working in my yard. I plan on going someday. I guess if the movies were not all so bad today and it costa 15 bucks for a ticket I might go more.

Not a fan. After a high school project deemed movie theater seats the germiest public space, even over public restrooms and dumpsters.. ick. Since I grew out of my teen OCD now I dislike them because they play it too loud and loud people annoy me.

I really don't. The cost is ridiculous, God only knows what that is on the floor or the seats, other people are often noisy, and I can't pause or replay like I can at home.
