I was hired 2 years ago for a job that was perfect for me at this time of my life. I had been unemployed for a year and a half. This was 2000 when covid was going on. When my benefits ran out I planned on retiring. After Biden became president prices seemed to double overnight and my retirement account dwindled right after that. I decided I better get a job. I looked for a long time but it is hard to get hired in your 50s. I found a place that really wanted me to come work for them. It is only a 15 mile commute and they offered me more money than what I asked for. It has been a really good job so far.

Here you go. It's a perfect stormy puzzle. I had a second water pipe burst within 8 months in 2021. Both cost around $400 bills, counting the water bill. The second one was fixed on Monday , and the following Friday, my a/c unit went out about 7:30pm. It was early August, and if you've been to NE Texas, you know heat. Well, not paying the double fee, I slept in a bed of sweat through Sunday. I had it repaired for $160 on Monday. The next day, I had to catch a ride to work because the engine in my car went out. The whole thing. Well, I had a warranty so shit. I worked 10pm till 6:30am. So I knew nobody to call that wasn't working or going to be very shortly, and in this town of 17,000 folks, roughly, I walked the 4.3 miles in light rain. I'm just missing a train coming. It must have been 6 miles long as I stood there in the rain with cars stacking up, and then I realized it was my 60th birthday. August 10th, 2022. I had to laugh, either that or roll under the train, timing my move between wheels. I didn't like my chances so there I stood, 60 years old standing in the rain waiting for about 10 minutes. I was soaked anyway, so big deal. After I made it home, I shortly received a call from Ford telling me the engine was on backorder and it may take a couple months to get it delivered. They had no loaners left so I rode my nephews wore out 10 speed for 4 months and 10 days. But hey, I got it out on December 18, just before Christmas and chiseled about 20 pounds off and became nicely toned. The following April 14th, getting the first oil change on my brand new Lincoln I got ran over at Auto Express and couldn't work. Less than 6 months later, the bank took it from me. I guess you wanted good puzzles but this is all I could think of.
