I half expected stupid Brad The Love Doctor to answer this: “Ah, the world of books…blah, blah, blah.”

I LOVE to read. Mostly history, biographical history, and current world affairs and international politics. I tend to go through periods of a certain era. I may be reading about the Cold War for a few months, then WWII, then Colonial History, then a specific country like Cuba, Russia, or England. Then all the sudden I’m reading about the sinking of the Lusitania, Roman Legions, Winston Churchill, or Mao. Then I find myself reading about the history of the Taliban, then the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, then the Rise & Fall of the Zulu Nation. All the sudden I’m reading about the slave trade, then Napoleon, then Queen Victoria.

I’m all over the place but usually one read kind of kicks off a leap point to another.

I tend to read technical books or books relating to a hobby. I listen to a lot of history audiobooks when I work.

I won't read medical stuff anymore unless it is *really interesting* - like diagnostic puzzles.

I read mostly nonfiction. I don’t read a ton. A book or an author kinda needs to drop in my lap through some other means before i am interested. I’m always open to altruistic suggestions! Some people tell you what to read as a mockery more than a thoughtful suggestion. I have a short list of books i want to check out in my phone. But i only go to bookstores a few times a year, and i don’t always remember to refer to my phone.
When i was first introduced to men’s issues, i was kind of obsessed. I probably read twelve to fifteen books that year and ended up owning several of my favorites.
As an effort to increase my consumption of fictional literature, i started reading books and stories that inspired movies and TV shows that i enjoyed. “Fight Club” is a great book, and probably my favorite movie. It also has a great back story! “It” was a difficult read for me. King delves into details in that book differently from a lot of his short stories that i’m more familiar with. I like his stories and his movies, but some of the adaptations of his stories are very different from his writings.
I tried to read “The Neverending Story”. That’s a trippy book. It’s kind of like what adventurous kids would read if we allowed them to dabble in psylocibin. Ell oh ell!

Kraken’s response reminded me that i actually read a lot for work. Especially right now since i’m kind of new to this trade and very new to this job site. So i have probably read eight or nine manuals this last few months. It’s dull reading, but necessary for me to be good at what i do.
It might also be part of the reason i don’t read much outside of work for the time being.

I read many different genres. I read about things I am interested in learning, and for fun I read horror/suspense/science fiction/action books. I’m also a huge fan of history and psychology.

Mostly I’m addicted to fiction though, and you can learn a lot about people and the world through them.

I can tear up a good long series and completely loose myself 😍. Especially if it’s a large collection of 500 page+ novels.

I do dig the supernatural/everyday life meshups.

When I find an author I like, I usually read everything they’ve written on a binge.

    I do so love books

Fantasy, paranormal, Science Fiction. I haven't read anything so far this year due to work which is ironic because I am a librarian, but it's been so stressful I just haven't even bothered to pick up a book.

I have just read a book about how bad the presidency of Joe Biden was. Tomorrow I am picking up "Uncertain" by Maggie Jackson who is an acquaintance of mine. I am going to start reading again. I had not read a single book since Covid

Biden’s presidency isn’t over and there are already books published about it like some sort of historical narrative? Hahahaha!!!

Mostly history, philosophy, and finance lately. Not sure how many I read in a year. I usually have five or six going at a time.
