Does the season 🍃 determine your movie selections?

Have you ever watched a winter-themed ❄️ , Christmas movie ☃️, or a movie that takes places in winter 🥶 or some cold place, while it was summer or summery ☀️ weather for you?

Usually, we watch summer or vacation movies in warm areas, when it’s winter or fall. But why are some against Christmas movies or winter movies in summer? 😂

I’ve watched one or two Christmas films 🎞️ and some Alaskan ones in summer, and it was oddly therapeutic. Was nice to also WATCH the snow and not be in it… but also nice to watch something cool on a hot day. Some placebo or something? I don't know! 😂

Not so much movies but t. v. shows. I have quite a few on DVD. Generally, I like to watch, "The Avengers" starting March so that I get into the Emma Peel episodes by the time spring is obviously here, then I'll follow that with, "Danger Man" (Secret Agent) which gets me well into summer and then, by the time I'm done with that, I'll watch, "The Prisoner" and it'll hopefully be late Sept. by then. Sometimes, I'll follow that with, "Columbo" because Pat MaGoohan was in 4 of them and wrote a few others and directed one or two others. Most of the rest of the shows I have I don't set a specific time period for, I just play them as I feel like watching them.
Of course, when Christmas comes it's my usual fave five: "Better Off Dead", "Rudolph Te Red-Nosed Reindeer", "Miracle On 34th Street", "Meet John Doe" and "It's A Wonderful Life". SOMETIMES, if I feel like it, I'll watch, "The Snow Queen" on Christmas morning but, there's a few bits missing from it so, that kinda takes away from it and, I'd kinda have be in a heavy Christmassy mood to watch it and, over the past 5 years, Christmas just isn't what it should be, thanks to my ex-sisters! As much as I REALLY TRY to get into it, it's like flogging a dead horse! If I don't have what I always had for Christmas, it's just another day of the year, to me. No more family, no fancy meals, no place to go for dinner and no one to come over for it, the train is gone, my house is gone, the feeling of being there is gone, there's no longer any presents unless I decided to buy myself one, no festive atmosphere, the only thing I've still got (thank Buddha) is all the Christmas ornaments. Well, the ones my ex-sister didn't take back after she gave them to us but, I certainly don't miss those. They were too yuppy, anyway. I've also still got the Christmas music but, I hardly ever bother to play it. And, commercialism REALLY fucked over Christmas in the past 2 decades!! Christmas SHOULD start in early Dec. and last `til at least the 2nd week of Jan.!! But, these days, it starts at the stroke of midnight on Halloween and ends at the stroke of midnight Christmas day!! How sad!!

I’m so sorry to hear that. I agree and with different circumstances but Christmases definitely don’t feel the same like say a decade ago and when I was younger than that. I’m glad you have such an organized show selection. Seems like an efficient way to not get bored with certain shows and all.

Thanks! It all started going bad for me in the late `90's and has been getting worse almost every Christmas after that!
I try not to watch them too often. I probably SHOULDN'T be watching them, now because, the past few weeks I've been running various episodes in my head so, when I finally DO watch them, it's like I've just seen them twice! But, to me, the bulk of the `60's was sunny and fun, like a warm sunny day on the beach DURING the `60's, just walking along the shore going no place in particular, the warm breeze wafting by. Preferably WITH someone (to love) but, that almost NEVER happens! I'm almost CONSTANTLY alone so, best I can do is imagine it. And these shows tend to encompass that fun, sunny feeling for me. So, as I just felt like being in a funny sunny mood this spring, i decided to watch them again. Who knows if I'll be around to watch them next spring? Seeing as how we have longevity in the family, I'm HOPING I'll be around for another 60-some years! But, hopefully, not alone for this half!
