Do y'all think Netflix is better than prime?

Question

While both contain good original content, Netflix delivers more new shows and movies at consistently higher quality year after year. As of 2022, Netflix has over 2,000 original titles, which have garnered 15 Academy Awards and hundreds of nominations.

While Netflix has a huge library of movies, Prime Video wins out here in terms of sheer volume. According to our quick check on streaming guide JustWatch, Prime Video has around 7900 movies available to watch, compared to Netflix with around 4300.

Yes definitely. I've seen people complain about Netflix lacking quality but I feel like those people have just messed up their algorithm or something. I don't have prime but I have been on someone elses account once nd there wasn't much there. Besides the Boys there wasn't much. And I'm losing interest in The Boys too tbh. Now they had Fallout it was ok but didn't blow me away. I'm just not impressed by these streaming services that think they can start way later and somehow compete. Netflix has been dumping money into this for so long and people even complain about their service. It's not a profitable business. Netflix only made money because they were the only ones for a long time. Now it's just a fight for who can make bad decisions the longest until everybody else quit.

This is like comparing two turds and declaring the less stinky one the winner, because the overwhelming majority of their original series' are junk.

To that end, I think Netflix is the better streaming service with more decent originals and (I think) more foreign gems, but Prime does have the noteworthy advantage of being coupled with Amazon's delivery service.

Netflix did an amazing thing catching on to streaming when Blockbuster never did. Blockbuster was set up to be the richest media company in the world and completely missed it by a startup mailing DVDs from his garage.

Netflix is blowing the lead it had on the streaming industry.
Prime and Disney are catching up.

Many Prime original shows are absolute dimes and Netflix is constantly implementing greedy policy changes trying to milk more and more money out of consumers.

So while I do agree Netflix still has a few good years left I wouldn't bet on it in the long run

I have seen some good movies or series on both. I do not like the new commercials they have added on Prime and u have to pay extra not to have them

Way I see it a prime membership is better than netflix but not because of the choice of videos it's better because of the free shipping from Amazon and other services linked in.
For quality of videos alone netflix is better however I would always cancel netflix first.

Primes problem is it keeps carving chunks of videos off to make sub companies to add a paywall for series that where free with the prime membership!

I've never actually used Prime except for the Fallout TV series Netflix I have used a little bit but for some anime.

Both are trash.
Physical media is better because you can have exactly the movies and tv shows you want and none you don't, and you get to keep them forever and can make backups using software incase they break. (yes, that is legal to do for that purpose, you just can't sell them).

Yes, ESPECIALLY now that it has Godzilla Minus One. So many months we’ve patiently yet anxiously waited, and now it’s finally returned. We just watched it yesterday and I will be participating in another viewing next week. Maybe I’ll watch it again this weekend.

For me personally, I’m a picky watcher so I’ll see particular movies or shows and want to watch them. Most of the time neither prime nor Netflix has what I’m looking for, it’s always some random streaming service like Tubi that has the specific titles I’m looking for…so I vote Tubi. 😆

I would not know if Netflix is better than Prime as I've have not paid for any TV services since I gave up paying the UK TV Licence and SKY Satellite TV before that.
