How often do you go to live concerts?

I've worked on many concerts in my job as a lighting designer. My main work is corporate events but I still do a few concerts here and there. Last year I think I worked on 10 concerts. I haven't bought a ticket and attended a concert outside of work in a few years though.

I used to... but  Prices have gone up significantly. And the ticket is not the only expense. Travel.. parking drinks snacks.. merch costs.. gas n other party essentials.  Add up to a waste of money

I went to my first concert in 1970 when I was 16. I was living in the south bay part of Los Angeles County. I went to hundreds of concerts in the 1970s and early 80s in clubs, auditoriums and arenas from San Diego to Santa Barbara and saw the most iconic bands and musicians ever. You name it.

I even went to the Don Kirshner Presents concerts in Long Beach and saw iconic oldies bands from the 1960s.
I got to see Wolfman Jack host a concert at a casino in 1995, too.

I tapered off after the mid-80s, but still went to quite a few concerts through the later-90s.

I moved out of the area in 2000, but have been to a few since.

I got to see Johnny Winter in a small venue in 2014. I had seen him in his hay days, but was happy to see him again, up close in the front row, shortly before he died. I got his autograph at that gig.

The last concert I went to was Jethro Tull's 50th anniversary tour in 2018.

I don't go to many big name shows, but I see lots of local folks. My parents grew up in the 70's in NYC and would go to the Fillmore East and the Village every week-end. I can't believe who all they saw for $5 and $6, and for free in Central Park. Name any big classic artist or band, except the Beatles, and they've seen them. I mean it, pick anyone big from the 70's and early 80's, they've seen them. They can't even guess how many concerts they've seen!

I have been to 500 or more concerts in my lifetime including 2, 3 and 4 day rock festivals.
