What book / book series do you think deserves to be adapted as a TV show?

In my case, I'd say that the Clocktaur Duology named "Clockwork Boys" and "The Wonder-Engine" by T. Kingfisher deserves to have its time on screen and characters brought to life. Apart from that, Eragon definitely deserves better than the god-awful movie we got back in the day... "Sadie" by Courtney Summers would also make a great Thriller Miniseries.

It doesn't have to be a live action adaption, by the way. Think Arcane and others, y'know.

None of them, honestly. Every screen adaptation has always been the interpretation of the director alone, essentially. It doesn’t fit the interpretation I had and a lot will get cut in the process. Doing this with something like superhero comics is no big deal, there’s already like 50 different versions of Batman, what’s one more? But with books it’s different, I don’t necessarily hear certain phrases the same way as the director might, or see expressions that the director did. The books I’ve read that haven’t been turned into movies or tv shows are honestly fine that way. I think, while well-intended, a lot of screen adaptations don’t do justice to the original material.

That's totally fair. Though I have to point out that us as directors don't get as much say in the outcome as we hope we do or as people think we do. It's usually the producers and production companies who decide to fuck that up, unless you have a big director name who'd drop out of the project. One adaption I really like much better than the book bc it was one of the worst reads ever was "Jack And The Cuckoo-Clock Heart."
