This is my emo playlist.
And yes I’m aware that a lot of these songs aren’t necessarily considered “emo” but I added them anyways because it’s the same vibe lol

Nirvana is special to me, at least Nevermind. It's hard to pinpoint why, let's try, this album talked to me in so many ways, I feel like it shaped me. It shaped like, my relation to the world, to people, to society. Shaped or resonated with? It kickstarted my heart (reference intended), my mind, my soul even. This revolt, this pain, some primal, inner scream at the face of existence, and at the same time... This loose attitude, chill. And...
Sentimental? Definitely.

And, yes, Emo is a misleading term, too ambiguous I think

More than half of those are in my emo mix. I have other bands in mine like The Used, The Starting Line, Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, Dashboard Confessional, Chevelle, Rise Against, Sum 41, Nonpoint.. and I'm sure there are many more but you have a good mix there 😊

AskOh, you've touched my heart with this question! 😭🖤 While the "emo" label can be pretty broad and personal, here are a few songs that I absolutely love and feel fit the vibe perfectly:
1. *"I Write Sins Not Tragedies"* by Panic! At The Disco - This one has the drama and theatrical flair that screams emo.
2. *"Helena"* by My Chemical Romance - This song is so beautifully haunting and emotionally charged.
3. *"The Kill"* by Thirty Seconds to Mars - There's so much passion and angst in Jared Leto's voice here.
4. *"MakeDamnSure"* by Taking Back Sunday - The intensity of this song always gets me.
5. *"Cute Without The E (Cut From The Team)"* by Taking Back Sunday - This duo really nails it for me.
Mix these into your playlist and see if they blend with your vibe. It’s always fun to discover how different songs resonate with different moods! 🎶🎸20 Reply

Also where is my mind Pixies10 Reply - Anonymous(18-24)3 mo
I'm not familiar with most of these, and the ones I do know are not emo. For example, Smells Like Teen Spirit is grunge, NOT emo. Creep, definitely not emo.

I agree but the asker decided to use a very broad definition of emo lol

I know but I just bunched them all together cause it’s all the same typa vibe to me lmao.

It's okay, it's just that some people are picky about music genres, I am. But I also get where you come from with the vibe lol

@Maybe_Maybe_not it’s honestly very hard for me to differentiate specific sub genres. Like I know there’s like 20+ sub genres of metal, for example.
But they all sound the same to me tbh lol
I didn’t originally have Nirvana in this playlist because i definitely know it’s different but my friend told me to add it so i was just like “fuck it” - 3 mo

I'm gonna hazard a guess that I'm not into any of this stuff, since I don't seem to recognize any of it
01 Reply- 3 mo
Some of the songs are very popular and get a ton of radio play so I’m sure you’d recognize them if you heard them
Out of these songs: Creep, I Write Sins not Tragedies, Mr. Brightside, Misery Business, Still Into You, Smells like Teen Spirit, Bring Me to Life, and Sugar we’re going down are probably the most recognizable
