Good Charlotte is an American rock band formed in 1996 in Waldorf, Maryland. The band was founded by twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden, alongside bassist Paul Thomas, guitarist Billy Martin, and drummer Dean Butterworth. They gained mainstream popularity in the early 2000s with their albums "The Young and the Hopeless" (2002) and "GC" (2004), featuring hits like "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous," "The Anthem," and "Girls & Boys."
Their music blends punk rock and pop elements, often addressing themes of youth, identity, and social issues. Over the years, Good Charlotte has undergone several lineup changes and stylistic shifts, but they have maintained a loyal fanbase. After a hiatus, they reunited and released new music, continuing to tour and influence the pop-punk genre.
