Short version: the best order for a first time watcher in my opinion is:
Watch new hope and empire strikes back until that Bespin scene.
Than start at the beginning in chronological order. Stop after Ahsoka.

When you get to clone wars you sadly have to get through the first two season. They needed time to realized they actually dont want a kids show but a show for star wars fans. It gets really good after they realize that.

I practically only watch the original trilogy, episodes 4 to 6. I have seen the prequels (episodes 1 to 3) and didn’t like them too much. Everything Disney recycles and regurgitates I completely ignore.
