Lol, tbh I feel like either are a waste of time 🤦🏻‍♀️ also, I don't consider forums like his site social media.. Because this is a space for discussion, its not like typical socials (FB, Instagram, tiktok, etc.) which are just meant for you to scroll and consume.

Unfortunately a lot of services/businesses run on social media.. so you might miss out on some things... But I think you can be better off without it, because the gains do not out balance the time wasted.

Games on the other hand, depends on the game. Sometimes they help you develop skill, sometimes they're just purely a waste of time. By that I mean there's is no added value to your life other than momentary enjoyment. They're a distraction.

Humans still need down time, but there are healthier ways to take breaks than playing video games. Ex, time in nature or making art..

Screens are the current day normalized addiction and they dominate our lives. It's a real issue for our health and self-development

I have always hated video games for as long as I can remember. Social media was fun for maybe 2 years, and then I was over it, so now it is a hard pass on both.

Video games! MMO's are also kind've their own Social Media as well, but even if you restricted it to single player games I would still take them over Social Media.

I can get lost in a video game for hours (sometimes much to my own detriment); but social media I gotta leave after 'bout an hour for my own sanity.

I can meet people in real. I can kick off social media any day and choose video games to enjoy my alone time.
This reminds me, I did that already. I deleted my FB, Twitter, Insta, and Reddit accounts years ago.
I just joined GAG in 2024 because it is less toxic and the ladies here are nice

If I had to choose between video games and social media, I'd opt for video games.
