I don't know about redirecting, but I'd definitely make a casting change.

"Fahrenheit 451" is a novel by science fiction author Ray Bradbury.

The central character is Guy Montag, a "fireman" - someone who burns books for a living in a dystopian future. Montag's wife, Linda Montag. Montag later meets Clarisse, a woman involved with an underground group of people who memorize books - indeed, they are given the names of the titles of the books they have memorized. He eventually joins them.

The novel was first adapted into a movie with the 1966 François Truffaut film "Fahrenheit 451".

Guy Montag is played by German actor Oskar Werner.
Linda Montag is played by Julie Christie.
Unfortunately, Clarisse is ALSO played by Julie Christie.

I saw the movie in high school around 1979 when I was 16 for an English class That casting choice was confusing because it was unexpected.

Julie Christie was originally cast as just Linda Montag, not both Linda and Clarisse. The part of Clarisse was offered to Jean Seberg and Jane Fonda. After much thought, Truffaut decided that the characters should not have a villain/hero relationship but rather be two sides of the same coin and cast Christie in both roles, although the idea came from the producer, Lewis M. Allen.

This casting choice was rather controversial because others were like me in high school; initially confused as to why the same actress would play two different roles at the same time.

Author Ray Bradbury said in later interviews that, despite its flaws, he was pleased with the film. He was particularly fond of the film's climax, where the Book People walk through a snowy countryside, reciting the poetry and prose they've memorised, set to Bernard Herrmann's melodious score. He found it especially poignant and moving.[citation needed] However, alluding to a possible remake, Bradbury said in a 2009 interview, "The mistake they made with the first one was to cast Julie Christie as both the revolutionary and the bored wife."

So, that would be my change: Have a different actress play Clarisse. Jean Seberg would have been a good choice for Clarisse; equally beautiful as Julie Christie was in 1966, but distinctively different.

Honestly this is going to sound crazy but I would love to redo fifty shades of Gray the book and the movie because I think I watched 15 minutes of the movie maybe read 20 minutes of the book and I thought it was stupid I mean there could have been so many good moments there and it was too plain Jane there could have been I mean sometimes intense meaningful moments that were just be so hot and it's beyond hot but yeah I would love to redo that just because I know it would be a hundred times better

instead of him dying in the squel
Like they said in the movie ironically
while having a random debate in class
"sequels suck"
Including that one
Randy was my only favorite Character, he was so funny and real
Love him for that
Billy & Stu and Dewey or Gale not so much
no redeeming qualities about the killers but before they killed off Dewey too I think Gale was becoming a nicer person until his death
That Line "you killed my best friend" was really heartbreaking
And the crazy girl who played ghostface telling her
"and he died like a pussy" was totally uncalled for
He sacrificed his own life purposely to get back vengeance for his dead sister Tatum
So yeah in my opinion everything went downhill
when Randy wasn't part of the cast anymore
Because it had no comedy lines as much
The 4th one was kind of funny with Deputy Judy and Kirby
But still wasn't entirely the same just more intense, serious and gore

Oh god several. Avatar. No more white savior, hey I just got this body a month ago but I'm already plowing an alien beauty and riding the near before tamed alien pterodactyl ans defeating and entire entrenched military with animals, spears and fucking bows that couldn't even puncture a tire.

Let him revolt, fine whatever. But he fails. Miserably. I'm talking gets shot out of the sky and plummets into the ground. The Navi get wiped out save for a few who get enslaved.

Has a good moral lesson there, sets up a better sequel and destroys any notion of a hero trope.

I would love to redirect "The Great Gatsby." I'd focus more on the visual elements of the 1920s, enhancing its artistic and historical aspects. Not exactly a redirect but a rewrite. He's Just Not That Into You, I would change it so Ginnifer Goodwin’s character doesn’t fall for Justin’s character at the end. I think it would have been better if he realised he liked her and she realised she could do better, considering the whole movie she was so boy obsessed it would have been nice to see her finally stand up for herself a bit better.
