What was so bad that the many black panther fans in 2018 rejected wakanda 2022?

Wakanda 2 only earned $450 mn around half of first, despite more expensive tickets! Far fewer film tickets!

People want to see big screen as indicated by first Wakanda and by the best, In a year When the 2 best earned around $700 mn. each (Avatar , behind best mavrick top gun) but not Wakanda.

But marvel flopped, far less by major $250 mn. Gasp! Doc strange even less, despite a HUGE fan base, in marvel n first black panther so how?

My guess is people were annoyed they made a lady black panther, shuri to EXCLUDE MEN, instead of making a new lady hero.
D. C. did ADD supergirl not replace superman with a lady nor minority man.
Marvel ADDED a latina supergal chavez but didn't make a film for her!

Main actor died and I didn’t like his replacement so took a pass. I’ll probably watch it eventually.


This has also been a part of the overall trend of superhero fatigue. This happened with zombie movies a while back too. Everything goes in cycles and it looks like Superheroes are on the downswing for the foreseeable future unless something changes

Because they lost Chadwick Boseman.. He started the mythos in Civil War, and it's just not the same without him.. It's still impressive that it made over 700 mil without it's main star..

Maybe because the Black Panther was dead and it was obviously just going to be a ripoff of the original.
It was actually better than I expected but the bar was pretty low.
