That's awesome! Iron Maiden is legendary 🎸. My all-time favorite band would have to be Radiohead. Their innovative sound and depth in lyrics make every album a unique experience for me. Plus, seeing them live is just mesmerizing!

So hard to say. I listen to rap more than anything, so they aren’t necessarily “bands” in that genre. I never know if that counts or not, haha.
I’d say as of recently my favorite is the Griselda crew. That’s Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, and Westside Gunn, plus this producer Daringer who makes a lot of their beats.
This is just want I want all rap to be. Grimy, gutter, 90s East Coast kind of sound. I love the beats Daringer makes, Conway’s lyrics are outstanding (and delivered insanely well, considering he was shot in the head and has Bell’s Palsy that twists his face and mouth up), and Westside Gunn, I wasn’t initially sure what to make of him, but I’ve grown to love him. Truly a character, haha.
But this is just what I want to hear as the soundtrack to my life…
https://www.youtube.com/embed/FVmA647V_9I🎶Hit him with a head shot, he did the Stankee Legg🎶, lmaooooo, love this guy
Love his gun noise ad-libs too, lmao. “Bddddddrrrrrrrrttttttttt!!! Buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-BOOM!!!”😝
https://www.youtube.com/embed/-51pxiN4NBA🎶I ain’t with the rap crap, I’ll back-slap fam/ *Pap-pap* the black Mac and flatten that man/ There’s 🥷s in “Cacksack” who who eat jack mack then/ Go and sharpen the top from the jack mack can🎶
(Love those bars, because I used to sell canned jack mackerel to the New York state prison commissaries, including Coxsackie (“Cacksack”), so…. those are my sales he’s talking about😂)
But Conway is probably my favorite. Masterful metaphors, I love his sports references, like using two NBA players’ jersey numbers to describe cocaine prices🫡
https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZaTDBz_Y8E0🎶I took a loss but now I’m back buyin’ raw/ Sell it for the Shaq…
…But I get it for the Brian Shaw🎶
Do the math, in thousands😝💰💰💰💰
If we’re more strict about “bands”, I’d maybe say, based on how many total songs they have that I “really like” or “love”, I could maybe narrow it down to Blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, Smashing Pumpkins, or Guns N Roses.Blink-182 and Taking Back Sunday in particular just kind of generally have a genre-defining overall “sound” to me, like their style….
https://www.youtube.com/embed/vVy9Lgpg1m8https://www.youtube.com/embed/S9z3gv3MWaMI think in both cases, I kind of like the dueling vocals, like there’s a 1A and 1B lead singer. Could maybe argue the same for Axl Rose from Guns N Roses, except both guys are Axl, lmao. Low voice Axl vs Screechy Axl😝

Come on dude. In that second video those dudes are literally rapping over a Wu-Tang song with the lyrics dubbed out. https://youtu.be/iTKLy6lKzfY?feature=shared
- 5 mo
@Staximus that was a freestyle, not a recorded song. The second round is over the Intro track from Jay-Z’s “Roc: La Familia” album from like 2000. Very, very common for rappers to freestyle over historically approved beats.
And I love Wu-Tang. These guys collab with them sometimes. Actually, in another song, Conway references their own producer and says “Daringer compared RZA/I’m compared to 🥷s that’ll stab you in your face with a pair of scissors.” He has a song called “Lemon” with Method Man that was one of the first songs I heard from them that got me into them. Also did stuff with Raekwon and Ghostface. I’m a huge Wu-Tang guy, I’ve probably seen them live more than anyone else.
But I just chose that freestyle so I could goof about jack mackerel and how I used to sell it to prisons, haha. Appreciate the defense of the Wu though🫡😂
Good opinion that has merit.
I have a lot though Alice Cooper is an epic live candidate even into his 120th year. I'd have to say Def Leppard though for best albums and being good live. P! nk was phenomenal as a show. Manowar sounded good but were total w@nks on stage. Whitesnake were ok too.
Can't remember a lot of them but different ones for different occasions30 Reply- 5 mo
Metallica has always been my basic bitch of music. I swing around to punk shit like NoFx or techno shit and other shit... but I think Metallica is my baseline when it comes to music.

Metallica peaked at AJFA but still foundational
It's a really, really tough pick but I got to go with "The Boss" Springsteen speaks to me and my dad loves him too so it's also kind of a father son bonding thing when we go hiking and listen to Bruce on the drive there, so it has a lot of emotional influence on me.

Old or new?😂 I love All We Know Is Falling SO MUCH, but it’s like they pretend it never existed, and I don’t get it. I don’t know if Haley is embarrassed of it or what. But that’s to me was their best album, although I think most people probably say “Riot!” is. If they ever played “Brighter” live and I was there, I’d be so stoked. Considered even going on the Par-Ahoy! cruise but they never did another one after I heard it was a thing, but that’s the only recent place I know they played AWKIF songs live. Frustrating band, they’re so good, but they won’t always give me what I want😭
