Who is your favorite Disney Princess from the animated movies and your favorite live action Disney princess?

Anastasia. Disney now owns that one, it counts by technicality.

For live action... The only good remake was Cinderella, so I think it wins by default.

Dishonorable mentions:

Aurora: She does absolutely nothing. Her character is pretty and has a beautiful singing voice. That's it, that's her character. Prince Phillip is the hero of her story.

Ariel: She gives away her greatest trait/talent to chase a guy; she's an idiot. Granted it works out for her in the end (largely because Eric is the best Disney prince from a character standpoint), but still, it puts her very far down the totem pole.

Elsa: She's written as a villain, but Disney backed off on going that route at the last minute. It shows, because her character is a mess.

There are probably others but Frozen and live action Aladdin are the last two that I saw.

I'm told it was Cinderella when I was a really little kid. But I'm going to say... Moana (is she a princess? Sorry. I am not "Disney-cool")

Why Moana? Because she is my 3 year old nieces favorite at the moment. She seem to be a good role model for the kind of young woman I hope she grows up to become.

She's a Disney princess who is: Independent; brave; smart; loyal; tenacious and many other qualities I hope she mimics.

Also, she's a freaking demi-god (I think, or is she a demi-demi-god. Don't come for me Disney freaks).

So. Yea. Moana is my favorite Disney princess. I only know that, because you just made me think about it. 🙂

This is soooo hard bc I love so many but I'll say Belle... and tbh no live action has lived up to my expectations but Angelina Jolie in Maleficent was pretty good. Even though they tried to portray Maleficent differently that in the original Snow White... but eh, why not?

@xcheerleader_jessx I don’t think Snow White and feminism are inconsistent. You just have to tweak a few of the details, which I think this movie has done. Also, do you prefer Hispanic or Latina?

Well, I'm mexican so I prefer that but if you must call me something between the two I'd say call me Lationamericana which is what we use in Latin America. I know they don't use that term in the USA bc it is perceived that the term "American" is only exclusive to people from the USA. In Latin America, we believe anyone living in the continent of America (north, central or south) is American. I digress though. I'm a latinoamericana from Mexico.

When it comes to Disney Princesses, my favorite from the animated movies has to be Mulan. She's a strong and courageous character who breaks stereotypes and fights for her family and country. As for live-action, I really enjoyed Lily James as Cinderella. Her portrayal was truly enchanting and brought a fresh charm to the classic tale! 🏰✨
