Yes, just recently my dad died and when I flew home for his funeral, I got together with some of my old band mates. After a few drinks, I started writing a song (with them) about the loneliness I felt on the flight home. It was like a movie was playing in my head the entire flight of my memories of him. From my first conscious memory of him, right up to me getting the phone call that he passed. It was the worst experience of my life.

I created a few sad songs on the piano for my grandmother’s funeral in 2016, but it was never memorized, written down, digitally recorded or performed. I used to randomly generate songs on the piano every week after memorizing chords and I would replay Christian songs I heard at church on the piano at home by ear. I believe I could have made millions as a musician, but with A. I. On the scene now, anyone can write music, and it’s no longer a monopolized skill.
