I've seen about 5 or 6 new movies in 2025.
I don't get a chance to go out to the movies often or stream new movies but when I do they are usually top notch.
Anyhow, how many new movies have you seen this year?
How many weeks have there been? 🤔🤷♂️ Novocaine was good though
Not sure but Novocaine indeed was good.
3:
Thunderbolts
Captain America
Accountant 2
This year, I've managed to watch around 15-20 new movies. Some highlights include festival hits and critically acclaimed films. I try to keep up with both mainstream releases and indie gems. Jack Quaid is indeed a great actor; his performances always bring a unique spark to any role. Watching these movies gives me a chance to appreciate the various forms of storytelling and artistic expression. 🍿🎬

2 of them: Novacain and Snow White
From the ten most popular, worldwide, this year so far, i saw 4 of those, but only liked 3. List:
1, not "Ne Zha 2" $1,899,200,000"
Yes 2 A Minecraft Movie $951,500,000, superb story!
Not 3, and not really "new movie" Lilo & Stitch $807,600,000, was a remake. Smart marketing! Wait 20 years so those who saw it, will bring their KIDS to the remake, because kid had not seen the one in 2003! But i did not see it, because i saw the older one.
Yes 4 Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning $455,900,000 , I enjoyed the action but as usual they did the "most dangerous choices relying on the happy ending" as usual... but it had good action and surprises.
Not 5 Captain America: Brave New World $415,100,000
Fact: latinos were excluded from its "main roles" despite they are a bigger minority. This exposed the agenda just pandering to ONE minority at the expense of other minorities. But maybe latinos and Asians don't mind?
Also i did not like excluded whites for same character. Just make a latino MAIN character, i mean FALCON as main character, without excluded whites from their characters. could've had the SAME story but instead of name captain america, "falcon and a sidekick with a suit from wakanda" all the same story, except without name captain america, that only served to exclude whites.
Yes 6 Thunderbolts $378 million, a flop compared to past marvel films that earned 600 million or more. The action was lame. I was disappointed but that is 2 hours i won't get back!
Not 7 Sinners $358,500,000
Not 8 Final Destination: Bloodlines $260 million
Not 9 Snow White $205,600,000
Same reason as captain america. Just make a latino main character, stop excluded whites from their characters.
Yes 10 Dog Man $145,200,000 very impressive! A complex story of action and surprises i recommended despite silliness.
And tenth of new: not 11 Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy $139,300,000.
this is like a mytake but only 350 words!
I've seen two movies in the theatre this year which is more than previous year and at home I'm more into shows/podcasts/audio books.
First movie I went to see this year was the lion king movie with work, there I sat with the oldest teen and ridiculed the movie and the danish dialogue.
The first movie I've picked to see for YEARS was a danish black and white movie called "pigen med nålen" or the girl with the needle, a fiction but based on the danish serial killer Dagmar and set right after world war 2.
An amazing movie, however I don't think I'll ever get used to going to the movies here - it's missing the right atmosphere + that one break in between I'm used to growing up. 😅
I watched “Novocaine” on Prime, i think. Was that in the theater?
I haven’t been to the theater in months.
I’ve seen a few good ones at home though. “The Accountant 2”, “Love Hurts”, and “Late Night with the Devil” were all good.“Death of a Unicorn” is a little cheesy, but i enjoyed it.
Yes it was in the theater back in March.
I saw the Gorge, when it dropped on AppleTV+. The only reason I had that subscription was because I had just got a new phone. Other than that, I went to see Revenge of the Sith, as that was brought back to theaters for the 20th Anniversary.
I would like to see Mission Impossible
I will see the TRON movie coming soon
I think a remake of the Odyssey is incoming which looks really good.
I’ll probably see the new John Wick movie, I haven’t talked myself into it yet.
I can tell I never watch commercials. I have zero clue what those flicks even are. Never heard of them. As for me, unless it is some sort of Netflix release this year that catches my attention … which i think there were a couple I watch but do not remember. To be candid I haven’t been to a movie theater since “Snowden” was still in theaters. However long ago that was. I am more of a Netflix and solo veg from home guy when it comes to watching something. Which is rare as I have never really been a tv watching guy. I only kind of started with my Dad binge watching series back in 2022. So I am far behind on even seeing any old popular stuff.
I'm not sure tbh but I'll admit I've only been to the cinema once this year and stream movies once a month at home maybe. Often terrestrial TV has movies I'll watch like Expendables or Enforcer and I'll watch them if I haven't seen them before.
Since the Corona pandemic I have watched mostly "older" movies that I have not seen yet. But we plan to go to the movie theater again with some colleagues.
Oh ok cool. What movie?
No idea yet. Will be a spontaneous decision there, I'd say.
Oh ok.
I've watched so many movies... probably more than ever before.. lol
I actually lost count... including Madame Web!!
I guess it's time for me to watch Sharknado one day soon since you saw Madame Web lol
and if you don't like it one bit... I'll give you your money back, lol
Lol it's free on Amazon I believe so no need lol
@NathanDavis watching Sharknado right now and so far it's not as bad as I thought it would be lol
lmfao... great!!
Lol.
In theaters? So far, I've taken my son to see Paddington and The King of Kings. I went to see Mission: Impossible when it came out.
I don't think I've seen any new movies this year.. But I might watch "The Thunderbolts" and I do want to go see the new Superman movie..
A fan of dc and marvel , rare , they usually have opposed fans !
@strateguy632 Yeah, I like em all... Just make a good movie and you got me..
I have not been to a theater since before Covid. I did see Novocaine on one of the streaming channels. It was better than i thought it would be.,
Not a new movie, but one I saw for the first time in the past month: Leave No Trace (2018) would be the best movie I have seen in the past couple of years.
not a lot I mainly re watch old stuff that I love
The last ''new'' movie I watched must have been around 2005.
I missed nothing as far as I can see.
none lol
the last new movie i saw was nosferatu in December
I've seen tons of movies, mostly at home on streaming services. I have been to the cinema twice.
The new Jason Statham movie and the new Mission Impossible movie
In the movie theater? Zero. The last movie I think I saw in the theater was pre-pandemic. But I've watched countless movies this year from my couch.
I haven't been to the cinema this year, not yet.
Just one but I don't remember the title so it can't have been that good
Precisely Zero.
No clue. 2? 3?
Nothing worthy has come out yet
Twice but will be 3 soon when I see 28 years later
ZERO
