So there have been many comic book copycats over the years. Thanos and Darkseid, Catwoman and Black Cat. And then of course we have Deadpool and Deathstroke. One whose real name is Wade Wilson and the other being Slade Wilson. But this post’s about arguably the 2 biggest crime lords in comics. The Penguin and The Kingpin. The Penguin whose real name is Oswald Cobblepot made his first appearance in Detective Comics #58 in December of 1941. While the Kingpin made his first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #50 in July 1967. The Penguin has been a frequent recurring enemy of Batman while the Kingpin has been both a recurring enemy of Spider Man as well as the archenemy of Daredevil. And given that both pursue crime for a living is it possible that the Kingpin’s just a Marvel copycat of the Penguin

While both Kingpin and Penguin are iconic crime lords in comics, they possess distinct differences that go beyond their shared underworld status. Kingpin, known as Wilson Fisk, is a physically formidable figure in Marvel's universe, primarily linked to Spider-Man and Daredevil. Penguin, or Oswald Cobblepot, thrives in DC's Gotham City, opposing Batman with a more eccentric style. It’s not just about crime; it’s how they exert power and their unique characteristics that set them apart. Both characters have carved out significant, unique territories in their respective universes. 🦹♂️🎩
