Twice in their life? I know someone I used to talk to that this happened to, in Washington state. It happened to him while on a trip. He got burned, and had to be hospitalized. Talk about luck!

Ouch. I hear you get burns from sweat as the extreme heat running along the outside of your skin turns it to steam. So you get electricity/lightning burn marks in the sweat. I was a little obsessed with this topic as a teen.

No it was twice in a row. They were knocked out the first strike, came around, stood up and went to walk away, and were struck again.

Wow. Yes, ouch! I can't remember now, if the same thing happened to that guy I knew. All I know is that he was struck twice. Maybe it's the same person!
I remember once I ran under a tree with my cousin to cover ourselves from a lightning storm. Thank goodness nothing happened.

Oh be careful. They tell you to stay away from tall objects in a storm. You'll get hit by the energy coming down and spreading out regardless.
