What summer movies that you’ve seen so far, are worth watching, in your opinion? Why?

I haven’t seen any yet. There are many on Netflix and other streaming channels that are so much better, in my opinion. For those of you who like action packed (( and funny too)…

The original The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 with Walter Matthau is great. All star cast. Real (funny) NY accents. Great acting too.

The Village, by M Night Shylaman (spelling?) is a roller coaster of a film. The ending will shock you. Another all star cast: Joaquin Phoenix, William Hurt, Adrian Brody and Sigourney Weaver.

just two worth mentioning that I thought were great.

I read the book The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 by Peter Maas when I spent a month in the hospital when I was 19. He also wrote Serpico.

Final Destination-Bloodlines was pretty good. Not the best in the franchise but worth a watch if you've seen the other ones.

Oh Youtube did suggest an old Maggie Smith movie last night I made it halfway through before crashing. Time and time or something similar. It was a period piece from 1944 with two time periods intermingling through a boys experiences in an old home. It was interesting.

I thought the first Jurassic Park was scary. Scared the daylights out of me.

The good thing about having seen the older movies, is that you can compare the movies of today with them. The older ones were so much better, ie; the original Taking of Pelham 123 much better than the remake with Travolta and Denzel Washington.

Ah, but the movie also has Jerry Stiller, Robert Shaw, Hector Elizondo, some other actors I dont know the names but the faces are familiar. It's a great film, full of action. Funny too.

it's hard for me to watch dated originals. i see all of the flaws and i'm more focused on that than watching a movie. i'll be thinking for 30 seconds 'can i forgive that'?

Oh, well. But you know--the newer films also have flaws we're not aware of. Some people might catch them.
