The problem with this is that the surface was likely initially dark grey due to being covered by ultramafic rocks. These eventually turned red when the iron in them was oxidised, forming rust. 4 billion years ago, Mars probably looked more like this:

Although by 3.5 billion years ago, large parts of the surface probably started to have a rusty brown colour and clouds would be sparser.
