Trending & News I stopped in 2002 when my wife and I moved into our current home. We signed up for wi-fi service but no cable or streaming services.
We have a really nice TV but only use it to watch movies together every once in a while. We used to get Netflix when they sent out discs.
For information and entertainment, I just use my laptop and she uses her iPad.
Prior to 2002, I would have the TV on all the time but realized that I wasted time watching garbage. It was mind numbing.
I don't miss it at all. In fact, when I'm somewhere that has TV, I'm insulted by the programming and commercials. Even the so-called news is mindless.

I used to watch Fox News Channel every single day almost when Trump was president 45. It was good back then. I had a great cable network and watched a variety of different things including documentaries. 👌
We were getting that cable company from our apartment building and it was included in the rent. They sold the building and the new owners took our great cable away and put in Direct TV. I lost all of my programs, just very basic (nothing really) cable.
Then Biden became president a couple of years later. I just couldn't believe my eyes and ears at what the democrats were doing to America - it was crazy!!
Then it got to the point that when I watched Fox, all they were doing was undoing what the other news was staying about Trump - the fake news.
There were no interesting programs to watch, and couldn't believe the news anymore.
It was just too stressful to listen to Biden lie all the time and that whole craziness was just too much for me.
One day while Biden was talking I just turned it off and never turned it on again.
A few years ago I stopped watching the news. My blood pressure was high and I thought not watching the news would help. It seemed to work but I felt guilty for burying my head in the sand.

I've given up the couch!
I rarely sit or lie on it, so I'm not a couch potato!
I suppose I have given up the tv to some extent, I usually only watch when I'm having a meal. ( I'm single so tv's not a conversation killer)
I don't watch soaps, I don't have the time for films, or I don't watch the programs the average person would watch.
But I do watch a lot of sport on tv, and perhaps I would be much better spectating at the actual venue than in front of the box.
I try to limit myself to no more then one show or movie at a time. No binges. I listen to podcasts a little more then I should but the kind of things I listen to are motivational, or just music in the background. The longer I've done this the less I want to watch TV and I've become wayyyy more productive. So not completely stopped but TV had got a lot less of a hold on me, then the average person.
I only watch the news (can be substituted by listening to the radio) and a couple of series with a weekly episode. There's very little worth watching. Mostly gossip and programs where a bunch of 'experts' vent their opinions on just about anything, while they clearly don't have a clue.
Tv is a relic that hasn't existed in my life ever since 2010 and I have no clue why anyone would use it. Anyone can watch shows for free anytime on many other things.
Not completely. I still use the TV, but only to watch the news and listen to the radio.
If I stopped watching tv I would be spending way to much time here on GAG.
I do t watch TV at all
I rarely watch TV
