these publicly accessible ai models, that are used by hundreds of millions simultaneously - how much compute do you use per message?

The models they host for us, typically all have less than 100b active parameters per token.

That stuff can code coherently, but with limits.

But do you really think that a 100b active parameter model is the highest THEY use?

What would have at any point prevented them from using models with hundreds of trillions of parameters?

They own data centers that power up millions of 100b model instances. they easily have the compute to play with 100 trillion parameter models.

so, i believe if a 100b active parameter per token model is as good as we see it is, then what they use behind the scenes is by far better at coding than any living human.

We're definitely far from agi yet. I don't know about other models (from what I've heard Claude Sonnet seems to be better in that aspect), but chatgpt 5 $ucks at coding tastes; it's slower than a tortoise, ignores prompts/instruction, messes up the code and creates new features in a completely different part of the code base and adds and replaces things you never asked for. Compared to previous models like o3, it's a huge downgrade.
