Did you see "A Complete Unknown"?

I watched the movie "A Complete Unknown" today. It is about Bob Dylan and how he first came to New York City and became a singer and poet. I get that most people will not care about this but I am a Dylan fan and I am sort of fascinated by the 1960s. It showed him visiting Woody Guthrie in the hospital and his relationship with Pete Seeger, Joan Baez and Johnny Cash. Al Kooper also got a nod in this movie. I heard that there was a big fuss over Dylan playing an electric guitar at the Newport Folk Festival but I had no idea that there were fisticuffs involved.

I remember when folk music was the big thing. In fact, in 1965 when I was 11 and got my first guitar, the man who came to give me some lessons asked me what kind of guitar I wanted to play. It hadn't occurred to me that there were different guitar styles. But I said Peter, Paul and Mary because I thought the ability to do folky finger picking would be better than strumming, and at that point, I couldn't wrap my mind around playing leads. Dylan's Blowin' in the Wind was popular at that point.

I became more aware of Dylan later from kids at school and realized that he was an amazing lyricist even though his guitar work, harmonica and vocals were not impressive.

And I remember the uproar that ensued when he went electric, but I liked it.

I had ever watched it but I just use videos to practice English and do other things in front of pc. Did not notice it and ignore it sometimes.

Bob Dylan gave me my first memories about music 🎶. My sister's boyfriend used to be into him and would play his music a lot. I was probably 12.
I didn't see the movie though.
I did have one of his first albums in my collection.
I still to this day love his old music.

No, I haven't seen it and I don't want to. I don't like Bob Dylan and it has nothing to do with his music. His music is awesome. It has to do with his specific lyrics. Do you know how many times I have stood out in the wind and I never got any damn answers to nothin'!

actually it is not but he ha such an extensive collection of songs and most are just loaded with metaphors.

There was a mention of his early album titled "The Freewheelin'" . When my father died I got some of his records. Among them was "The Freewheelin'" as well as early Joan Baez, Kingston trio and he even had a Marty Robbins album.
I remember hearing these aa a kid. I never really thought about it. However I now wonder how my WW2 veteran father came to like Bob Dylan.
