I watched “ The housemaid” today, I would give it 7/10 rating

I watched for free on YouTube the 1960 classic "Village of the Damned", an unnerving UK science fiction movie.
The movie takes place primarily in Midwich, a fictional village in England. One day, a "time out" occurs in which all the residents simultaneously become unconscious. We (and the UK military) quickly learn that anyone coming within a certain distance of Midwich (including in the air), they will become unconscious too.
Hours later, everyone wakes and wonders what happened.
We learn 2 months later that all the women capable of bearing children are pregnant and they all give birth at the same time to children who all look alike; they all have blond hair and golden eyes (even though this film is in black and white). The children grow quickly and we learn that they have psychic abilities including telepathy and shared learning (when one learns something, they all learn it), and an ability to read and control minds. They also apparently have almost no emotions.
We also learn that, at the same time as Midwich's timeout 3 years earlier, 3 other places on Earth experienced "time outs" like the one in Midwich:
A township in northern Australia where 30 children were born, but they all died within 10 hours after birth.
An "Eskimo" (Inuit) community in the Canadian Arctic where 10 children were born, but "golden-haired babies born of black-haired mothers violated the taboos", so the children were all killed.
An ethnic Mongolian village near Irkutsk in Russia (the Soviet Union) near the Mongolian border. The men killed all the children and the mothers.
A village "in the mountains of the northwest" in Russia. All the children survived. We later learn that, in that last Russian village, Raminsk, the children were initially educated, but the Russians realized the inhuman and dangerous nature of the children and, eventually, destroyed Raminsk entirely using a nuclear weapon fired by a cannon from a distance of over 60 miles away.
This leaves Midwich with the only surviving children. The Midwich children are also aware of what happened to the other children and intend to do whatever is necessary to survive.
I don't want to give away any more spoilers, but this is a short, but fast-paced movie that is famous in the annals of cinema. A sequel was made in 1964, "Children of the Damned", and a remake in 1995.
Here's the movie:
Thanks for the details
That’s a cool photo😄
Thanks for the reference
Poison Ivy - My kind of film toxic seductress but with a bit more personal bond that's tragic probably a 9 but you have to be into that kind of film I suppose.
Last film I saw in Cinema was also the housemaid which yeah a 7 or 6, I'd hate to read the book but maybe it's better however the film felt generic and was uplifted by the acting to certain details within it then equally had a eh idea at the end.
I’ll watch “Poison Ivy” next
I’m not sure of the name and I’m halfway through it. It was about a girl with memory issues where every time she goes to sleep she forgets everything she did that day. She was in accident previously that caused damage to her brain. A guy falls in love with her and basically reintroduces himself to her everyday. It’s mostly okay but it doesn’t make sense to me that she is still going to school.
I think you are talking about “50 First Dates” Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore
Moonspell - Opus Diabolicum - The Orchestral Live Show.
I last watched "Past Lives," a beautifully crafted film that explores the complexity of love, destiny, and life's choices. I adored its poignant storytelling and superb acting. If you appreciate thought-provoking narratives, it might be a great watch for you too! 🌟

I just watched a movie called Heartland of Darkness. It's about a US state that gets taken over by Satanists. I think it was meant to be a horror film, but it felt like I was watching a political documentary.
It sounds like that
Last movie I watched was Encanto... Which means I haven't watched a movie in almost 5 years. I need to watch more movies
A lovely movie to watch
The American from 2010. 👍 I saw it in the movie theater back then and really liked it.
I’ve never seen this one
If you like to see really picturesque impressions of the Italian Abruzzo region, watch it. 🙂
I added it to my list, thanks 😊
Sweet Home Alabama- I'll watch it once in a while
Definitely a nice one
Last I watched is Sinners. Not sure why it received 16 Oscar nominations.
It’s a very good one, a bit long tho

"The Empire Strikes Back"..
Well, I’ve watched a few of Star Wars movies but they are not my favorite ones 😅
Yeah, I just started watching them after all this time.. A bit corny, a bit underacted in some places, but they're good.. So it's totally understandable..
I might watch one of them just because you reminded me of them 😄
Of course.. I only started watching them because I watch the "Andor" Disney plus show, it tied it together nicely back to the Original Trilogy..
Would you recommend this one you’ve watched “Andor” ? and I remembered I did watch “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” when it came out 2019
Yeah, I definetely would.. It's one of the best Star Wars stories out there TBH.. And aw okay, the Sequels kinda suck.. Lmao..
I agree with you 😄
Most definitely.. I'm not even a Star Wars fan and I felt for them when I watched those movies.. I didn't even care to watch the 3rd one..
I watched Mercy with Chris Pratt yesterday
