It’s not really even Bostrom’s theory. He just repackaged an ancient theory for a digital age.


I recognize that the theory holds merit, and that’s why it’s debated by top minds. I also recognize that i don’t know. Nobody does, and we may never know. Again, the first thought that the world we perceive may not be all that there is was written well over two thousand years ago.
What i luv most about it is watching atheists squirm as the top minds recognize the possibility of intelligent design. The faithful on one side calling the creator God, and secularists on the other side suggesting the creator (s) might be a programmer (s). Atheists standing there like the tiny minority of idiots that they have always been trying to defend their ignorance and gaslighting. 😂😂😂


There’s also research trying to determine if there is a gene that predisposes people to believe in something so much greater than themselves that it’s almost incomprehensible. If it’s found, they aren’t going to call it the simulation gene. It will be the religion gene.

That's not even what he said. He said that there is a "1 in billions chance" that we are in "base reality", thus while the odds favor us being in a "simulated reality" due to our rate of technological advancement, he still believes he lives the 1 in billions chance of reality, not a simulation. That said, he thinks we need to create a simulated reality I suppose to control people or humanity will destroy itself. That's a horribly pessimistic philosophy of transhumanism, but you're looking at a guy that wanted to put chips in everyone's brains to control what they think and whom was working with individuals that wanted to change your thoughts when you had "wrong think" in order to control the world as a bunch of hive mind flesh suits for AI. His mindset on that topic is that of a deranged madman. So I would agree we live in reality, but I would not agree that we need to develop a simulated reality, or the matrix in other words in order to save humanity from itself. That said, that is for some reason a token conversation for computer scientists. I've been asked if I live we live in a simulation by so many pseudo intellectual retards that I want to punch people in the face when they ask that question. It's not even an interesting question, it's just like a buzz word people repeat because it's what computer scientists think they are suppose to talk about.

No. But this is one of those questions that comes down to 'what exists outside the universe'. a. there is no need for anything else to exist, and b. the universe is a closed system so even if something does exist we will never know about it.
