Did you expect “Scream” would carry on for three decades?

I always truly appreciated the unique angle of exposing horror movie tropes in an actually scary flick. The kills were perfectly gruesome, interesting and the reveal was a bit of a twist. I have seen every installment and the twist from the first echoes through the whole series; making you guess at who and how for the entirety of every sequel.
In my wildest dreams though, i never expected to be seeing new “Scream” movies thirty years later. The sequels are surprisingly good as well. They didn’t resort to extra splatter or far fetched supernatural tropes to keep the themes alive. And they never shied away from killing off the biggest stars and some of our favorite characters. I am a fan, and i’ll probably go see the latest “Scream” in a theater soon. How about you?
Did you foresee the long term possibilities for “Scream” all those years ago? Are you looking forward to more?

Disappointed somewhat when I saw Scream 7 last night. 🎥 Two reasons - 1) the unexpected casting removals led to the detour in story from the previous two rebooted films and 2) I'm always disappointed, unless I've never understood Scream properly as a satire horror, "the Ghostface is never ever unmasked or even dream sequence unmasked as "a monster" underneath rather than a human in a suit" - lol you know? 🎭 💀 That would be something cool and scary.

No I didn't imagine it would go on this long. I remember watching the first one at 5 years old on VHS and getting in trouble for saying the curse words. That was fun.

But no I never expected it to go past 2 or 3. I don't even remember watching 4. Saw 5 and 6 which were surprisingly pretty good. So I might watch 7 but I've heard some not good reviews about it. But I will still check it out for myself.
