Most people won’t know their names because they are primarily famous for being MMA pioneers. Some of them have gone on to do movies as well.
Back in the infancy of the UFC, there was an MMA seminar in town. I didn’t hear about it until long after it was sold out. So i didn’t get to go. Instead i went out drinking and dancing with friends. Lo and behold who showed up at the club after the seminar ended? Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Oleg Taktarov, Keith Hackney, and Don Frye all came in for a few drinks. Don hadn’t even had a fight in the UFC yet. I met him right before his first appearance. He was training with Dan Severn, whose gym was just a short drive from where i was living at the time. So close in fact that i have run into Dan probably half a dozen times while we were both out running and errands and such. Super chill dude, always made time for a chat and even remembered me after a fashion.
I also met a local celebrity news anchor and a field reporter a couple of times.
I passed on an opportunity to meet Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. My cousin and i went to see “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” during the original tour when Smith and Mewes were going around and introducing the film at select venues and doing a short Q&A after. We were going to stick around and get autographs and meet them until we saw how long the line was and realized we already weren’t going to get home until after 1 a. m.

Snoop, lloyd banks and britney spears. I worked for a production company that supplied the speakers and amps for a Britney Concert and she signed our camper trailer. Lloyd after he did a show hung out with my buddies (maybe his biggest fans) for drinks after a show he did at a bar and I got to hang to with them after the bar closed. Snoop was kinda crazy my buddies girlfriend and I were out on the prowl looking for Katy Perry we heard she was in town for the stampede so I called a buddy up who was working vip at a MINT ultralounge and he says there is no Katy but you got to get down here I will save you a seat. So we rush over and he takes us up to the rooftop vip set us down in a booth, we order drinks and are like wtf I don't get it.. About 10 mins later the door to the fire escape opens and in walks 4 of the largest men I have even seen in my life and right behind them Snoop doggy dogg trailed in a cloud of weed smoke. Literally could have been a movie. He walks right towards us I'm freaking out inside then the last second he wheels into the booth behind me. Twice I perked up like I was going to go introduce myself and say hi but the larger then life body guards shut that down by exhaling.

In the latter '70's we saw the St. Louis football Cardinals at a local charity basketball game.
