What do you really think about the Family Guy series?

It's WAAAYYY better than The Simpletons!!! They're almost as ugly with their bulging eyes but they're WAAAAYYYY funnier!!! I don't get into it enough to watch it but, the few episodes I've seen were really good. I accidentally watched The Simpletons, once, back in the late `80's and almost laughed once!! It had something to do with one of the girls playing saxophone. I don't remember anything else about that episode.

Very FEW funny jokes. Always shallow and disappointed me. Its most popular episodes were: in 2023, the one where a jew gets killed - up until i complained here! someone saw and people voted a different one soon after! Or the "funny" dog eats human poop episode, but that is just an indictment of the show's audience!

I think Seth Macfarlane has wanted to kill his cash cow for a while and he’s made the show worse and worse and full of terrible people, and he doesn’t understand how he still has an audience.

Family Guy is like junk food TV for me 🍔📺 Fun in small doses, exhausting if you binge. Early seasons were sharper, with clever cutaway gags and decent satire. Over time it leaned more on shock humor and offensiveness just for attention, which gets repetitive. Still, some episodes are brilliant, and Stewie–Brian dynamics can be genuinely smart and funny.

Meh. It's very slapstick, adolescent humor. Definitely funny in it's own right though. Family Guy was reflective of a different era in American culture than we're in now.

I used to find it more funny earlier in life though.
