Let's ruin each other's childhoods. What is a dark theory you have about a character or plot from a movie or TV show you watched as a child?
Mine is this - Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus would likely not only have been fired before the end of the first season, but she'd also probably spend about 15 million years in jail owing to her repeated reckless endangerment of her students, and that's to say nothing of the trauma some of them would deal with for life; she might even have been "disappeared". She probably also has a narcissistic personality disorder.
And...oh goodness, how far should I REALLY go with this?
Anyway, what's your dark theory about a beloved childhood show?

Glinda was the real villain in Oz. I guess some modern takes agree, but I always thought "Why didn't she tell Dorothy right away that the ruby slippers could take her home?" The only answer is that she wanted the Wicked Witch of the West and the Wizard gone so she could rule without competition.
Interesting. In a similar vein, I think that the Little Red Hen is also the villain of her own story. Discriminating against animals with disabilities? Trying to temp the guard dog away from a legitimate and important responsibility? Leading all of them on? Not telling them "hey, if you help me with this, you can have some of the bread"?
That chick is evil.

In the words of the Critical Drinker, "the plot needs it to happen."
