It's not so much an addiction, but I do enjoy collecting Teddy Bears, a few expensive (Steiff and Charlies) but mostly inexpensive ones, and even rescuing some from both charity and antique shops.

At present the total is 155 which are kept in three large show cases, which might need increasing to four in the not too distant future!

I binge films from Cannes darlings to random K-dramas, then end up sketching characters or scenes I love. I’ll lose hours painting, watching some moody indie movie in the background, or rewatching a classic just to study the framing and colors. It’s like my brain’s favorite loop: watch, feel, draw, repeat. 📚✨

Reading books has been a long term habit. I wouldn't call it an addiction, rather something that I enjoy to do. When I was a kid, I'd get up extra early to catch up on reading. It's still something that relaxes me and transports me to another era or imaginative world.

I’m not sure if mine is an addiction or just habit I can’t control. If I see something being made online, on YouTube or elsewhere and it looks delicious or interesting, I have to attempt to make it or buy it. Usually it’s a food or craft. It’s bad because I go out of the way to get ingredients, or use time to make it. It’s fun while doing the crafts but then if I tire of it, I put them away. I began watercoloring flowers, for example, and if life gets in the way I stop.

I see. I have one silver quarter and a dime that is silver, and also a "silver note" from I think, 1939. My father once found in a bathroom in NYC, a very old silver coin with the "Walking Liberty" figure on it.

Nice, I've never seen a silver note in person but I do have a walking liberty half dollar (shortened to a walker in the trade) as well as without checking 14 quarters and 19 dimes (20 if you count the Panamanian tenth Balboa struck on to exactly the same base)

My former husband had a small box of silver dimes and quarters that he had collected since the time he came from Cuba to the US. He must still have it, and back then, it was worth about $500.00, or so he once told me. I have always liked silver jewelry, more than I do gold!

I'll share a funny story about something that happened with me and jewelry. When I moved here from the east coast, in my car I had to bring along a dog and two cats, my daughters' pets. Couldn't leave them behind. On my way here, I stayed at a hotel in PA to rest after saying goodbye to my home and neighbors. I had so many things to carry (cat carriers, bags, etc) that I accidentally left behind a grey duffle bag in front of the doorway of that hotel, which I had intended to bring in once I put the dog in, an 84 pound golden retriever. I left without it. This bag contained, at the bottom under my clothes, all of my jewelry, along with a gold bracelet I had received from my favorite aunt, who had died some months before. I realized it at a stop place close to Ohio, and cried all the way to Ohio, thinking of that bracelet and my connection with my aunt. Once I got there, I called the hotel I had stayed at, and lo and behold, some good samaritan had seen the bag and brought it to the hotel front desk. I had to take a trip back to PA to get it the following day. I was so glad I had not lost it.
