I could never figure that one out. The only reason I ever watched it was because Bill Bixby was in it.

I never saw the 80s one, only parts of it. I grew up on Hulk 03 and Hulk 08 but I also thought some hulk moments in MCU were cool but mostly nerfed

I was never much into comic books and super heroes. The closest I ever got to that was the t. v.. show, "Heroes". It got kinda weak in the 4th season.

Hulk is definitely an antihero.

That is the point of antihero. Heroes do good for the sake of good. Antiheroes do bad for the sake of good or incidentally despite good intentions. Hulk is complex because his alter ego always tries to do good and needs to stop the Hulk because of the collateral damage from his rage.
Villains do bad for the sake of bad.
Hulk is an antihero because he does bad despite his best intentions.
