YouTube attracts trolls, and most people with YouTube channels do little moderation. Thankfully none of the channels I follow are that careless, but I know what you mean. You hide all the comments if you wish with a simple browser extension.

That's not normally the case. YouTube comments are highly curated, plus most of them are fake anyway.

Online anonymity makes some people drop basic empathy. They don’t see a real person, just a screen, so they vent frustration, jealousy, or boredom without consequences 😶‍🌫️
YouTube also rewards engagement, so trolls know being mean gets reactions and likes.

I usually ignore and block, or focus on creators and comments that add something positive instead 🌈
