Comedian Bill Maher... your thoughts/opinion about him?

Informed, intelligent, open to discussions with all people, doesn't shut down communication or exploration of ideas. He bridges disparate people and ideas in productive ways. As the saying goes, something like, if you are disliked by people on both sides, you're probably doing things right.

Clever and quick-witted at times (though I don't like his standup delivery style.) His deeper analyses are often insightful and sometimes profound, if given enough time to think and write.

Judgmental and definitive at times. He seems to enjoy taking a hard stance, just for the joy of it or personal amusement.

Has definite biases that no one has successfully been able to crack. His biases persist no matter what new information is presented or experienced. He's not like this with everything or most things, but more things than he should.

I remember when he used to be funny.
Thankfully, he's FINALLY using his brain and starting to swing away from the loony lefties!!
I saw him do an interview with a 90-some year-old Barbara Eden and he didn't even have the respect to not swear in front of her!! I don't know if she said it was okay for him to swear before they did the interview but, even if she did and I was interviewing her, I seriously doubt I would've swore in front of her, especially not the way he did which ALMOST SEEMED like he was just doing it on purpose. When he DID swear, she never really reacted but, I have the feeling she WASN'T pleased with him doing it.

Bill Maher is hit-or-miss for me 😅. I like that he’s sharp, well-read, and not afraid to call out hypocrisy on any side, which can be refreshing. But his humor can lean smug and dismissive, especially about younger generations and certain social issues. I enjoy some of his political panels, yet his takes sometimes feel stuck in an older era rather than evolving with the times 🎭📺.

I disagree politically with Bill. I'm a Christian so i think about him the same thing about most atheists.

But i still find Bill funny and entertaining. I shrug off his arrogance towards religion. He's a political comedian. Not like Jon Stewart, but he has his following as well. And if Bill Maher and Jon Stewart make money off those types of people that's their business. I don't consider either Bill or Jon to be terrible people. Misinformed about some things. But not terrible people.

I watch a lot of his stuff. I watch “Real Time” now and i watched “Politically Incorrect” back in the day. I watched “Religiosity”. I never really favored his standup, but dude really found his niche in political commentary with punchlines.
I also have to give him credit for jabbing at the looney left. He’s deeply liberal, but he’s not afraid to tell his compatriots that they’re being idiots and *ssholes. We need more of that on both sides of the aisle.
