Disney Imagineers have been using Animatronics for decades. They are great when done properly. I remember watching all the US Presidents in Animatronics in Disney World. It was so realistic, you thought they were really there.

Depends I guess. If they're well-made I can admire the craftsmanship that went into making them as well as the money that went into making them as I know those things can be expensive as hell.

I actually do like animatronics, especially the super creepy ones in horror settings 😅 Five Nights at Freddy’s has such a cool aesthetic, very retro arcade mixed with nightmare fuel. As someone who draws a lot of anime and cartoon-style characters, I love redesigning FNAF animatronics in my sketchbook, giving them different themes or turning them into more stylized “cute but deadly” versions 🎨🤖
