Have you ever watched the dating game show called “Baggage”?

I don’t really watch TV beyond NFL games. But my guilty pleasure has become “Baggage”, because my TV defaults to the Game Show Network when I turn it on before bed to pull up YouTube so I can play a video of rain noises to drown out my tinnitus, haha.

If you’ve never seen it, there’s one person choosing from three people, all of whom have three suitcases with a little sign inside that details their baggage as a dating prospect. There’s small, medium, and large baggage. The first round, they reveal their minor baggage. The second round, the person doing the choosing will be shown the three people’s medium baggage, blindly, and they’ll pick which baggage they can’t deal with. The contestants then return and claim their respective baggage, and the eliminated person departs, usually with some corny parting quip or insult.

The remaining two contestants then sit on a couch, and each will be asked a series of questions about themselves. They then return to their large suitcases, reveal their worst and most shocking baggage, and then the person choosing decides which one to eliminate.

Finally, the chosen contestant is told of the choosing person’s possible baggage, in a “two lies and a truth” format. The chosen contestant will declare which potential baggage would be the most troubling to them. Then the baggage is revealed, and the chosen person decides if they want to go through with going on a show-sponsored date with them, saying they can or can’t accept the baggage.

It seems fake as a three dollar bill in some ways, lmao. Like the contestants are from all over the country and have some stated occupation…. but it seems clear they’re mostly people trying to “make it” in Hollywood, and this is probably a gig their D-list agent got for them. Oh, and Jerry Springer was the host (this is about 15 years old).

I don’t know…I just enjoy yelling at the TV about who to pick or eliminate, and occasionally someone douchey will get humbled😂
