Whatever goal you have for them is up to you.
Mine will be a Ferangi exploration vessel. Its purpose will be to explore strange new worlds - to seek out new life and new civilizations... to exploit and screw out of resources.
Quark's mom is captain and Quark is second-in-command. This scenario is designed this way to make Quark hate this as much as possible, which is good because he's historically been most influenced to do brilliant schemes to get ahead when he hates his life and wants to hate his life less.
Quark's mother will give him the false impression that her long term goal is to become Grand Nagus of the Ferangi, and that she will leave the ship and give command to Quark when that happens, if only they can attain enough wealth and useful discoveries for the Ferangi civilization that she can game the fame to stand a chance of becoming the Nagus. She never plans on leaving the captain position though... just manipulating Quark into having more incentive to succeed by lying about it.
Chief Engineer will be Rom, because though he has a conscience (which is bad, given that this is a Ferangi vessel) he's been shown to be dumb enough to be fooled easily, so that shouldn't be too big of a problem.
Chief science officer would be Q after he had his powers taken away, but retains his incredible knowledge. Him lacking a conscience means he'll fit in well.
Chief security officer would be Garrick... the Cardassian spy from Deep Space 9, who can make undesirables just sort of disappear accidentally out the airlock.
The head psychologist and crew counselor will be a certain male half betazoid who looks human who sleeps with Deana Troi in Next Generation who I forgot the name of who uses his powers of emotion-reading to manipulate business deals. Though officially he's head counselor, his main job will be to inform the captain of signs of disloyalty and to help with exploitation. He will not reveal to anyone but the captain that he can actually read emotions.

According to AI, the Next Generation Enterprise had a crew complement of about 1,000 people. Not big enough. I'm gonna need a ship with at least a billion people. We're going intergalactic at warp factor 10,000 in hyperspace. I'd get bored in 2 weeks with 1,000 people. The ship is built around a hollowed out neutron star 1,200 miles in diameter. The outer hull is 200 mile thick neutronium. The hollowed out core is 800 miles in diameter. Each "deck" is 4 miles high and there are 200 decks in all. Artificial manipulation of gravity controls the intense gravity well of the massive ship at 1 standard Earth gravity. Weapons include spacetime displacement that simply removes an enemy from existence with a warp bubble along with close range kinetics and directed energy weapons. I'm the Captain. I have 1,000 Vulcan executive officers to administer government / command structure aboard ship. Passengers and crew have all been selected for high sex drive. We are gonna fuck out way to dominance in the Andromeda galaxy and beyond. A benevolent sentient AI oversees ship maintenance and human activity along with external threats. And there's free cable / internet for everyone. Bodies can be cloned and consciousnesses and transferred to a new body. Wednesdays are pizza night. Farts have been totally eliminated with bioengineering.
Well, the Ferangi idea was not my personal ship. You can have Andromeda. My crew are going to head toward one of the closer dwarf galaxies orbiting the Milky Way. I figure there's more chance we can have the whole place to ourselves there. We'll just hop to another if we find one we don't like.
We're taking some solar system or other nobody seems to care about much. We'll be surrounding the star of the solar system with countless reflective satellites, so that the energy of the sun is always pushing in one direction, propelling us along toward our destination, and the solar system will be our ship.
The bad news is we've got a pretty big ship, so we might end up crashing through a few civilizations here and there on the way. These things don't turn well, you see.
Why is this interesting question in the sexuality tab?
