How do guys feel about meeting their girlfriend's parents?

My boyfriend is coming to dinner at my house on Tuesday and is going to meet my parents for the first time. We have been together almost 5 months now, and when I told him that they wanted him to come to dinner, he said yes without any hesitation. He didn't act like it was a big deal, which it really isn't.

But I'm just wondering how do guys typically feel about meeting their girlfriends parents? Do you get nervous about it? Also does meeting them mean that you are serious about the girl?

My girlfriend's parents won't even let me in their house because it's messy and they'd feel embarrassed. I have met them and talked a bit, though.

My initial concerns where how they'd feel about: my age , my race, and being her boyfriend. I'm Mexican and she's fully white, I'm 18 and she's 16 (I didn't know if they'd feel threatened by an "older" guy dating her), and being her first boyfriend ever I was worried that they'd be hyper protective. So yeah, slightly nervous. More so of the father as I imagine all guys pray that their girlfriend's dad isn't some mob head or a cop and stuff of that nature.

I'd say it means he's fairly serious. As someone else said, we wouldn't meet the parents of a girl we plan on just dumping later on.

I don't care really. No I don't get stressed out about it, I'm not out to impress them. Basically it implies she wants to bring me into her family, but not so much that I want to bring her into my family (which is more important). If she wants to meet my parents and brothers that's an entire different ball game.

I don't really get nervous. I just hope they're not racist or too religious. It would mean that I'm getting serious cause I don't wanna meet the parents of some girl that I'm not going to last with.

I'd be nervous as hell to meet the gf's parents!! But I've never had the privilege. I know though I would be nervous at first, but I'd be a cool cookie when I meet them though :).

My mom and dad drilled me with table manners and everything so I know I'm good there. I have a pretty huge general knowledge, so the conversation topics don't scare me too much lol. I never really had to feel nervous because the girl would tell me what her parents were like before we met and show me a picture. So if he was a tough ass, I knew to step my game up. If he was laid back, I knew to be chill. You learn to adjust to the situation.
