He blocked me and then unblocked me?

I had a massive argument with my friend yesterday, things have been very rocky. I was in the middle of trying to talk things out with him when he suddenly blocked me on whatsapp. Then I sent him a regular message, basically telling him to fuck off. I was tired of him always trying to run away somehow and I figured that him blocking me meant that this was the end of our friendship. However, today I noticed that he has unblocked me (I can see his pic an status on whatsapp again) so what gives? I don't understand his behavior. Why would he block me just to unblock me not even 24 hours later?

Got really angry at the moment of your argument and just wanted to prevent you from contacting him. Now he's cooled down and is no longer angry. Just in case you wanna talk about what happened and still be like friends he unblocked you.

I guess that makes sense, but wouldn't it be easier to just keep me blocked since we're not really friends anymore? I dunno...

maybe he doesn't wanna end on bad terms with u. u don't have to hate someone if they aren't ur friend anymore.
