Are thigh high socks really that inappropriate lol?

I wore thigh high socks to a friends house and her mom said it was inappropriate so I took them off. For me it's not a big deal they're just socks I would wear them all day at my house but I didn't want her to say anything else about it so I took them off plus she kept staring at me like she was disappointed.

I would say that if your friends mama can tell that you're wearing 'thigh-highs', therein lays the inappropriateness. I mean seriously, unless your wearing a bikini or something, which would be weird with stockings, then how does she even know? You are in their house though, you either listen while you are there or you simply leave, no one is stopping you from leaving. If someone tells you to take it off because it is inappropriate, you ask them why do they think that way and see it from their point of view, maybe it's for religious reasons and she doesn't want that to have an influence on her child.

If it's because she thinks it will have an affect on her child, she's an idiot if she thinks that disallowing it within the household will make any kind of difference.

And there are no mainstream religions that involve taking clothes OFF. If it's for "religious reasons", it's not for "religious reasons", it's because of the conservativity that comes with being religious, which is silly.
