Who has experienced child abuse?

My father was in prison and I was living with stepmother and older stepsister. When i piss them off, they used to punish me by locking in the cold storeroom of the house by tying my hands and feet with only in my underwear

I lived in Fostercare from the time I was 6 years old right up until I was 19. When I was younger my mother was very abusive to my brother and I hitting us with wooden spoons, banging our heads into the wall and even trying to drown us in the bathtub. I also spend most of the day in a play pen in front of the TV. The Elementary School Teachers began to question the bruising I had and the neighbors became aware something was going on too because we lived in a trailer court. Truthfully I was pretty young so I don't remember everything and that is for the best.

Then one day during school social services came and apprehended us and sent us to live in a Foster Home. It's pretty weird to go from living with your parents one day to then being placed in a home with a couple you don't know. After a while we settled into living with them and we still had visitations with our parents. After a couple years we were moved to live in another town because our biological parents moved there. My brother and I were really blessed and fortunate because we lived there for 11 years.

Looking back I'm thankful that I was taken out of the abusive situation when I was younger because being in a Foster Home for as long as we were is very rare. I'm also aware of that there's many children who have gone through and many who are still going through many kinds of abuse. My hope is that more children are able to be placed somewhere where those things will not happen anymore.

My mother let my older sister that's 5 years older than me beat me everyday because I was a boy. She would come in my room anytime she wanted and drag me by my shirt and hair. This happened after my dad died. She's in prison now for abusing me.

My mother wanted me to be a girl and was never happy I was a boy. My sister was her favorite and my dad knew that he kinda protected me from her. When he died that's when her and my sister would abuse me everyday for a year from 12 years old until I was 13 that's when my uncle adopted me. My uncle pressed charges and my sister went to prison. I still have nightmares about her.

I experienced child neglect and abuse from my birth mother. Too young to remember. Bless her heart, though.
