What would you think if your kids teacher had old self harm scars?

I cut myself in the arms some year ago, I'll be a teacher some day and now I'm very self aware of these scars because I think the best will be to hide them from kids and teenagers. What would you think if you found out your kids teacher went through this?

I don't mind.

It's important that kids be exposed to the various people they'll meet in life outside of school. Learning to be cognizant, but also respectful, of others and their struggles - or past struggles - is important.

I'd just hope that you can speak authentically and, ideally, with a message of perseverance and hope, about your experiences without too much pain.

I think if some of my friends who cut knew they had adults they could trust, who shared their pain and struggle, maybe they'd have had a bit easier a time.
